Wayne has more than 30 years experience primarily consisting of decisive crisis leadership roles in a variety of troubled companies – both large and small as well as both publicly and privately held. He has experience in a broad array of industries including financial institutions, real estate (commercial and residential), retail, biotech, manufacturing, internet, car rental, medical and hospitality. International experience relating to these assignments includes Japan, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Poland, Venezuela and The Netherlands.
Wayne became CFO of ANC Rental Corporation, an international company and the parent of Alamo and National Rental Car companies, just prior to its bankruptcy filing which Wayne helped to plan and administer. Wayne was also CFO in a similar for Gerald Stevens, Inc. a national floral shop operator with 390 stores in 20 states. Wayne was also CFO for Boca Resorts a NYSE hospitality company sold to Blackstone in a $1.2 billion transaction.
During the thrift crisis in the late 80s and early 90s Wayne ran the "bad bank" at Amerifirst Federal in Miami and Carteret Savings in New Jersey where at both institutions he was in charge of all troubled assets which at both institutions included the entire portfolio of Commercial Real Este and Business loans – more than $1 billion at each institution. These loans were compromised, foreclosed or otherwise worked out as appropriate. Wayne was the senior surviving officer post RTC intervention at both institutions and stayed on to help the RTC continue to resolve the portfolios.
Wayne is a CPA and began his career in public accounting where he spent 7 years with the Miami office of Arthur Andersen.
Wayne has extensive experience in cash management, process improvement, bankruptcy and restructuring, business plan development and debtor/creditor negotiations. Recent consulting experience includes nearly 7 months at a tier 1 auto finance company representing the lender with large troubled borrowers.
